HOME ABOUT THE SCHOOLS WHAT WE DO CONTACT US

The Kenyan Government spends only £7.50* on each child’s
education
per year. The Ribban Children’s Trust is a charity that
has been set up to directly support two schools in rural Kenya
in their mission to provide basic education.

 * Based on the financial year 2005/2006 and
Currency Exchange Rate, May 2006

Objectives of the Trust

  1. To contribute towards good quality education and a full curriculum for all children.
  2. To improve current classrooms, staff rooms and latrines.
  3. To purchase text books, stationery, furniture and computers.
  4. To raise awareness of parents about the importance of schooling.
  5. To support the community in developing local projects which will generate ongoing income.

What will your contributions achieve?

  • School buildings with doors, windows, rainproof roofs and dry flooring.

  • Increase pass rates at national examinations.

  •  Provide children with toys, text books and writing materials as well as desks, chairs, library books, playgrounds and equipment.

  • The schools will have trees and vegetable gardens.

  • The whole school community will have safe water for drinking and washing.

  • Sex education will tackle teenage pregnancy and HIV/Aids issues.

This will help create the environment where the children
will feel happy, valued and motivated to learn.
